Looking like LA Live might be getting some more competition; the Long Beach Arena is strapping on its hard hat for some long-over-due updates. Once hosting such talents as The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elvis Presley and No Doubt, to name a few, we can all say the Long Beach Arena has seen its better days, well $7 million and the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau President & CEO Steve Goodling are hoping to return to those days. The new design for the 45,000-square-foot, multipurpose event space is focusing on versatility, hosting the ability to customize itself to suit any event planner’s palate. Goodling stated “When you walk into the arena, you won’t feel like you are in an arena, you will feel like you are at a special events arena.” Hmmmmm…..arean……special events arean……didn’t know there was a difference.
