Just Another Day In SouthLA
As you should know, the Crenshaw Line is in full bloom construction. Curbed LA has supplied us with guide of how consturction for the King/Crenshaw subway stop will go down. Construction on the subway stop actually began last night at 10pm and will continue today into the afternoon. There are two more subway stops planned for the 8.5 mile light rail connecting the Green Line to the Expo Line, one at Vernon and Crenshaw and one near the expo line. This should be the first of many weekends like this. Provided to us from friends at LA StreetsBlog, here is more on the Crenshaw Blvd planned closures and also info for people looking for JOBS!
“…Small Business Resources Project-Oriented Discussion (POD) this past January — a work group of the Crenshaw Leadership Council (CLC), the community advisory body appointed by Metro — they are looking to connect small businesses with the information and resources they need to survive and even thrive during construction. For more information about CLC and POD meetings please see the calendar and meeting minutes, here. For information on business opportunities for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises hosted by Walsh-Shea Corridor Constructors, please attend the May 14th (9 – 11:30 a.m.) outreach event at Rogers Park,400 West Beach Ave. in Inglewood or contact veronicamartinez(at)walshgroup.com. The flyer for the meeting can be found here.”
I don’t understand why things like this are schedule during business hours like people don’t have 9 to 5’s
